PRAISE, MUSIC and THE WORSHIP OF GOD

Music is an integral part of the Nature of GOD; everything He Created sends out sound waves in music scales beyond the range of our ears; the Astronomers can hear the stars singing by means of Radio Telescopes. Every atom is a  miniature solar system, electrons whizzing around the central nucleous, hence JESUS said “If these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out” Luke 19- 40. Our bodies are made of atoms, as are the stones, hence Luke 3-8.

Job 38-4/7 & v 31/32. The Morning Stars sang together when GOD laid the foundation of the Earth, the Jewel of His Creation, thus showing that the Heavens were created first, and then the Earth, Gen.1-1.    Ps.19 “The Heavens declare the Glory of GOD”.   Ps.50-23 “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me”.  Shouldn’t we want to glorify our Wonderful GOD?

Praise is the expression of our thanks to GOD for all His Love and Goodness to us, whereas Worship is adoration that comes from a Heart of Love. John 4-19/24 “They that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth”; our heart or spirit is the seat of our love. See the amazing Humility of GOD (manifest in the flesh) in that He reveals this Truth, & confesses He is the Messiah, to a sinful woman; not to the proud and arrogant priests.  GOD desires our Loving Worship from a heart of humility. He longs so much for our Love that He was willing to sacrifice His Beloved Son so that we could be redeemed and born again as His own people.

When JESUS was born the Angels sang, “Glory to GOD in the Highest, and on Earth Peace” Luke 2-14. It’s because the nations do not give Glory to the One True GOD that they are never at peace. There is no peace to the wicked; this is becoming more evident as the nations legalise the abomination of Sodomy and abortion. Lev.18-22. Keep clear of it! Lot pitched his tent towards Sodom, then moved into it & lost out.Gen.13-12 &ch.19.

The first mention of worship is when Abraham went to offer Isaac as a sacrifice and said, “We will go yonder and Worship, and come again.” Gen. 22-5. What devotion, and what Faith! Abraham, about to sacrifice his own son, says we will go and worship!   Here is the setting for Worship of Our Own GOD. Ps.67-6. Note that GOD was only asking Abraham to do what He Himself would do in sacrificing His Own Son as the Lamb of GOD.

Ps.29-2 “Give unto the LORD the Glory due to His Name; worship the LORD in the beauty of Holiness.” The Psalms are full of exhortations to sing unto the LORD, v1 of Ps.95. 96 & 98; to Praise His Name, Ps.100-4; to make a joyful noise unto the LORD, Ps.98-4; to stand in the House of the LORD Ps.134-1; to clap your hands and shout unto GOD with the voice of triumph, Ps.47-1; to praise Him in the dance, Ps.149-3; to worship him in all forms of music, Ps.150.  In all these ways to Praise & Worship GOD.    (There are so many calls to Praise the LORD in the Psalms).

Ps.8-2 & Matt.21-16; out of the mouths of babes GOD has “perfected praise” to defeat the enemy !

Praise brings the victory; when Israel was invaded, Jehoshaphat sent the singers out front, and when they began to Praise the LORD, GOD destroyed all their enemies. 2 Chron.20-20/23.  Likewise when Paul & Silas were beaten and in prison in the stocks, at midnight they prayed and sang praises unto GOD, and GOD sent an Earthquake and opened their prison doors!   Acts 16-23/26.   Paul said he was comforted and joyful in tribulation,   2 Cor.7-4.   Paul exhorts us to “admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to the LORD”,  Col.3-16, Eph. 5-19; 1 Cor.14-15, and to “Rejoice evermore, Pray without ceasing, (and) in everything Give Thanks”!  1 Thess.5-16/18.

Let us be bold in Christ, not afraid to testify to our GOD, like Paul, who stood amongst the philosophers at Athens and boldly declared, “Whom ye ignorantly worship, Him declare I unto you”  Acts 17-22/24+.

The angels of GOD are commanded to worship Christ. Heb. 1-6, as they did when Uzziah died, Isa. 6-1/3.

The glorified saints and the angels are continually praising and glorifying GOD;  Rev.4-19/11; 5-8/14; 7-9/12; 11-15/19.  The greatest rejoicing of all will be when JESUS takes His Bride for the Wedding of the Ages, Rev.19-4/9.  This is the great day that we can all look forward to, so let us rejoice and give thanks continually for our Wonderful Salvation.  Let us lift our hearts and voices continually in songs of Praise and Worship and bring delight to the Loving Heart of our GOD. Millions of angels cry “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory and blessing”.  Rev. 5-12

“O Worship the King, all Glorious above,  O gratefully sing, His Power and His Love,
“Our Shield & Defender, the Ancient of Days; pavilioned in splendour and girded with Praise”.
