THE GREATNESS OF GOD !!!

GOD IS THE GREATEST BEING IN THE UNIVERSE; HE IS OMNIPOTENT, OMNISCIENT, & OMNIPRESENT.

GOD is the source of all Space, all Time, all Matter, all Life, all Power. all Intelligence and all Emotion, and we are made in His Image !  What a Wonderful Heritage we have.  But this image was marred by sin, and so GOD had to put into operation His Great Plan of Redemption, of sending His Own Beloved Son to Earth to be our Redeemer, to take upon Himself our humanity, and in so doing enable us to be lifted up to a higher place so that now we should be called the Sons of GOD, to be His very own Family, to share His Glory !!!   John 17-22.

      The unregenerate man, totally ignorant of GOD, His Works, and of spiritual matters, can only theorise from his carnal, unenlightened mind, and is easy meat for that master of deception, Satan, the Devil, the god  of this world, who deceives man with false doctrines of evolution and the “big bang” origin of the universe;  2 Cor. 4-3/4.   But we are not deceived, for we know that GOD created all things by the Word of His Power. 

      Let us meditate on the fact that He is our Creator; we owe everything to Him, our life, every heartbeat, every breath, and so we should praise Him at all times; as the first great commandment of the law says, “Thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thine heart and with all thy soul and with all thy might” (this involves our whole being) and the second is like it “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”.   Deut.6-5, Mark 12-29/31.

      Secondly we must accept that He is the Supreme Architect of the Ages, He has planned everything from the beginning, He has not been deterred by our sin, and He is working all things after the counsel of His own will; this shows how important it is that we should always seek to know His will for us, to heed His Word, to Walk in His Ways, and to Worship Him without ceasing.  We can see how men of old responded to GOD.

Gen.1  GOD created us in His image and gave us dominion over all the Earth, but man sinned and both he and the earth were cursed, and deliverance from our curse is only found in Christ. The Earth’s curse will be lifted in the Millennium, when JESUS reigns over all the Earth for 1000 years with His saints.

      Gen.5-21/22 Enoch “walked with GOD and GOD took him”. (In Hebrews it says “that he should not see death”) For us who look for a rapture, we also need to “walk with GOD” if we are to escape the tribulation.

      Gen.6-9 Noah also “walked with GOD”, and at GOD’s command built an ark to the saving of his house.

“As it was in the days of Noah (of great sin) so shall it be in the days of the coming again of the Son of Man.”

      Gen.15-6  Abraham believed GOD and it was counted unto him for righteousness and he was called the friend of GOD.  He was prepared to sacrifice his beloved son Isaac, as GOD the Father actually did for us.

      Gen.50-19/20 His brothers evil entreated Joseph who said “GOD meant it for good”. As has been written, “GOD moves in mysterious ways His wonders to perform”.

What GOD requires of us:

  1. Worship of Him at all times.   Ps.34-1/3  John 4 -23/24
  2. Obedience to His Word and Faith that He will answer. Jer.7-23; Rom.10-16/17;  Heb.11-8
  3. Freely to receive of all His wondrous love, grace, goodness and mercy. Matt.10-8; Eph.1-7/8; Ps.23- 6
  4. To be His ambassadors, ready to witness to Him at all times.  2 Cor.5-20; Mark 16-15/18
  5. Above all, to love GOD and one another always.  John 13-34/35 ; 1 John 4-16 & 5-1/3.

What GOD has planned for us.

  1.  Eternal Life.  John 3-16
  2. Everlasting Joy.  Isa.51-11, Isa.61-7, Zeph.3-17
  3. Companionship with Him as members of His Family,  His own Sons and Daughters.  Isa.45-11; 2 Cor.6-18; 1 John 3-1.
  4. Ruling and reigning with Him in His Kingdom over the whole Universe.  Rev.3-21; Rev.21-7
  5. Eternal pleasure.  Ps.16-11  Rev. 4-11

“How Great is our GOD, how Great is His Word, He’s the Greatest One that ever was heard”.

 How can we not cease to Love and adore Him forever and to Love one another.  Let us do so, Amen.

  1. Thank God for ‘in Black & White.’ I’m just a chicken, Alfred – 75. I read about you in today’s column. I would like to catch up with you at some time. I have been dead twice, at eighteen months due to drowning in a well, and at 52 due to an adverse reaction to a medication. God spoke directly to me in 2007, asking me to ‘do something about abortion.’ Thus, I am over the moon about the Supreme Court ruling in the United States and believe that I had a little to do with the outcome, having written to all Justices telling them that the Jubilee Year of Roe finished on January 22, 2023.
