THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL

The reading from John’s Gospel, ch.1, v1-14, tells us how GOD was manifest in the person  of a human babe, the GOD who created the Universe, who gives life to everyone and everything that lives, who keeps our hearts beating 100,000 times/day, which man cannot explain, and by gravity keeps you safe on the Earth whilst you travelled 65,000 miles  in the last hour on our Annual trip round the Sun.  Does that make you feel tired ?

Hearken to the Word of the LORD!.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with GOD, and the Word was GOD.  The same was in the beginning with GOD.  All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.

In Him was Life, and the Life was the Light of men; and the Light shined in the darkness and the darkness could not overcome it.  There was a man sent from GOD whose name was John; the same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men thru’ him might believe,  He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

That was the True Light , which lighteth every man that cometh into the world,  He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

He came unto His Own, and His Own received Him not; but as many as received Him to them gave He power, or the right,  to become the sons of GOD, even to them that believe on His Name, which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man,   but of GOD.

And the Word was made Flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His Glory, the Glory as of the only Begotten `of the Father, full of Grace and Truth.

And all we need to do is accept the Word of God, believe that Jesus died in our stead, and that by the shedding of `His blood on the Cross of-Calvary, we are totally redeemed from our sins  and given the gift of Everlasting Life.

We accept the gift of salvation by faith, the exercising the same faith we then need to confess our faith before men, for with the Heart man believeth, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation. He that confesseth Me before men, him’will I also confess before My Father which is in Heaven, but he that denieth Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father in Heaven. So let us rejoice in the Lord and spread His praises.

Glory be to the Name of our Precious Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
